Still

D300 - 300 mm, 1/320 sec f/7.1, ISO 1000

I weep

for what could have been and is not,

for the beauty I don't see,

for the time lost.

  2. life's untender mercies
    fleeting as sparrow's wings
    leave in their wake
    a solace
    found on sun-warmed stones

hugs to you...may you find some solace in this

  3. Wonderful words and image.
Makes me think of a Rorschach inkblot test.

  5. Very beautiful and stirring. I love the picure with the reflections, goes so well with the poem.

    To all:
Thank you for your encouraging comments.

    Forgive the sadness,
    the sneaking grief,
    it's a colored veil
    on a tired mind.

    our different ways
    to express sadness
    the same horse
    a different harness

  9. Tired minds lead to isolating thoughts and false beliefs that the current reality is the only one in existence. Thank you for showing your human vulnerabilities.

  12. WoW! Among the best pictures I've ever seen...

And your poem... I feel as it was addressed to me; just recently I have often been wondering about all these. So, I'm not alone... Thanks for sharing it! ;)
