Day 9 [3/4]

Madeira

Primary, honest colors
painted on cosy shapes of a recent past,
echoing an unfamiliar language,
talking about genuine people.

  1. [ Colori candidi, onesti,
dipinti su intime forme di un passato non lontano,
    rieccheggiano una lingua sconosciuta,
    raccontano di gente semplice.]

  3. Yes, but who's lives do these tiles represent, the rich who lived in these halls? or the artisans who created the masterpiece? I think of both...

  4. Love the top photo.

  5. I think of the hands that made the tiles, the lives of the people who created them, and who installed them. I was especially enamored with the Moorish tile work in Andalusa, and your photos of these reminded me of that. Although they are substantially a different thing. Once again, fabulous pictures.

  7. Is it not interesting, dear friends, to see how our mind creates the perception? Strawberry girl and Catvibe added their story, telling about people living with and/or manufacturing those tiles. Others among you complimented on the photography. What do these picture really capture? History? Beauty perhaps? By looking at them, the only meaningful conclusion is that they bear no meaning at all.
Even the words by them bear no meaning. They state a perception, calling for other perceptions, and hence no truth.
